End of the Year Review

Hey everybody! Have a fun year?

Ahhhhhhh…. ha.

A year ago I started this blog as part of my New Year’s resolution to write more. In one regard I’m not entirely sure if I hit my goal. I only wrote eight articles, most of them months apart.

In another regard, that’s eight more than I wrote last year.

I know a lot of people have been hit hard by what’s going on in the world and they wish they could get back to work. I sympathize with them and I’m incredibly grateful that I’ve been working as much as I have.

Earlier this year I achieved my goal of building a new computer, which was only possible because of all the overtime I got. A few months ago I quit my job and am now working from home, making a little more than I was prior. The fact that I don’t have to commute to work anymore gives me a lot more free time than I used to, and a more consistent schedule is also a bonus.

Where am I going with this? Well, last year I wrote eight articles. My 2021 resolution? Simple.

Write nine articles.

I mean, at least nine. It’d be a shame to waste all this newfound free time!

I’m not gonna lie – sometimes it’s hard to want to write. Like anything, you have to work at it. You have to make yourself want to practice. But at the end of the day, you want to do it. That’s why you keep going.

And this doesn’t just apply to writing, no! It applies to anything worth practicing. I don’t wanna reveal my hand too much, but I’ve been practicing some stuff. Maybe this time next year I’ll be confident enough to show off!

I think that’s all for this wrap-up. I’m a little tipsy and I wanna play some Team Fortress 2 before the ball drops. But stay tuned – the next article is coming sooner than you expect!

And mark my words – it will be about Chicken Run. Happy New Year!
