So it’s gonna be 2020 in a few days.
My New Year’s resolution was to write more, but I figured, why wait until the 1st of January? It’s not like there’s anything stopping me from starting this here blog today.
I’ll introduce myself now. You’ll get enough information to know a little bit about me, but not nearly enough to dox me!
My name is Colin Jetson. About a year ago I graduated college with a Bachelor’s in journalism – and a minor in film. I like to write, but I’m afraid I don’t do nearly enough of it. Why?
I don’t know. It’s hard for me to get my ideas down on paper, or in this case inside the computer. But I realize that writing, like any skill worth pursuing, is something that takes practice and effort! And let’s be real – the barrier to entry for writing is super small! All you need is a piece of paper! Or a computer! Did you know your phone can also make words?
While I have a degree in a writing field, that’s evidently not gonna get me a job by itself. To that end, I’m hoping whatever I write on my website will attract potential employers.
Even if it doesn’t, so what? I don’t write for them. I do it for myself. Because I enjoy it. Because it’s fun. I can sprinkle a buncha words in front of you and you read them and laugh or smirk or groan or book the next direct flight to my kneecaps with the intention of shattering them. That’s the power of the quill, bay-bee!
What kinda writing can you expect to see on here? I dunno, whatever comes to mind. Maybe stories, maybe interviews, maybe I’ll jot down something spicy and sinful. Like, what if they sold big-ol Slim Jims and they were called Thicc Jims?
(To any potential employers… ignore the Thicc Jim-style ones. Or don’t.)
And hey, maybe I’ll finally upgrade my computer and start making videos again!
